Summer Safe Skin

Now that we're finally getting a bit of sun this summer (don't want to jinx it) it means we're sitting out on our lunch breaks and in beer gardens and all of our limbs exposed, so it's time to get the bottles of fake tan and suncream at the ready. During May I got a press release about it being skin cancer awareness month and I thought of this blogpost I wanted to write to first of all raise awareness about skin cancer and the importance of suncream but secondly recommend sunless tanners for those of us who just burn. So it may be two months later but here we are, summer safe skin.

Utrecht Travel Guide

Well, it's definitely been a while so please forgive me if I've forgotten how to do all this. So I've finished third year of college and just got my wisdom teeth out so a week on the couch can get quite boring so I decided I'd finally start the Utrecht travel guide that I have been meaning to do since October.
I'm a huge fan of travel diaries when you're going somewhere new so you can see how other people found the place, what they did and what they would or wouldn't recommend. I always look for them when I'm going away so I love doing them after visiting a place and hand over any gems I've found or anything I wouldn't recommend doing. I've also linked everything I mentioned so it's very easy if you want to check anything out further.

Five Years

So you're probably wondering where I've been and why I'm finally posting after this length of time but today is actually my 5th blogging birthday and I really didn't want to pass this milestone without mentioning it. A lot has changed in the last five years blogging-wise and I just want to have a chat about what's been going on with me and my blog (this will probably be a very long chatty one so I'll try and not word vomit too much!).

The Festive Trio

Now that exams are almost over and the last of assignments are handed it, it's finally time for Christmas and the festivities that come with it. It's time for the family nights, the friend reunions, the nights out because 'sher look it's Christmas'. And with all of that comes the 'I have nothing to wear' dilemma. So this is where this blogpost will hopefully help you with three outfit ideas for the different occasions  that you'll probably encounter over the festive season.

The Family Gathering
Now the first occasion we're going to deal with is the family gathering. The struggle with how dressy or casual to go is always the hardest so I put this outfit together that's either a casual dressy or a dressy casual (with no ripped jeans in sight, anyone else's grandparents seem to harp on about how your knees will be cold and you're only wearing half a pair of jeans?!).
A cosy jumper and leather skirt is a great way to mix the dressy and casual together, I kept it really neutral because it's Ailbhe we're talking about. Heeled boots are the easiest things to throw on because they're not as uncomfortable as heels and I genuinely live in this pair for nights out, I thought they dressed the outfit up quite nicely.

Save On The Statement

Even though I hate to say it because I still think it's way too early, but the Christmas nights out and festivities are coming up very quickly. Thinking about what to wear is one thing but how to take your everyday makeup to the next level is another. You wouldn't mind splashing out on a foundation that you use every day or a nude lipstick you'll get the wear out of but you don't really want to spend all your money on a glitter you're going to use for a couple of nights out. I'm going to share some statement makeup products with you that will make your everyday look party ready without breaking the bank.
